Pela reforms as “Augustines”! Video EPK(with live acoustic performances) coming soon!

I shot this in the dungeons of the Neumos, a live venue here in Seattle, while the band was warming up for their live set… little surprise by the end!

enjoy!

Last year I had the luck and honor to edit the behind the Scenes of a really good movie of a local director, “Outsourced”.

The movie is a really funny and enjoyable comedy about cultural misunderstanding. The film was entirely shot in India, but sadly I wasn’t on board until the end of the production and I didn’t get to go… damn

You can check the “Outsourced” website for the trailer and more info about the movie here: http://www.outsourcedthemovie.com/

You can also find “Outsourced” at your local video store on Paramount dvd or on Netflix, both for rent and streaming!

Two weeks ago I was introduced by my friend Ron to Pela, a great Brooklin native band.

Adrian and I were invited to shoot their set at Neumos for KEXP, a local radio station, and to tell you the truth we really didn’t know what to expect.
We listened to a few tracks on their myspace page which revealed to be quite good, but we still didn’t know what was going to face us once into the venue…

oh man… the show was a blast! great music, great stage performance and great crowd!

so far I have managed to edit the last song of the set, which is a cover from The Clash (“Guns of Brixton”), but more is soon to come! the occasion also served as a test the video capabilities of our last purchase, a Canon 5D mark II.

Geez. best money we spent in a long time… the frontal shot in the video are all from the 5D in Adrian’s hand!

you can check more about Pela on their website

their last LP “Anytown Graffiti” is one of the best albums I have listened lately, and surely the most addictive… it has been playing non stop in our car for the last two weeks! they also have a new one coming out mid summer

for all of you that are in the Seattle area, they will be coming back to play for the Capitol Hill Block Party that will happen at the end of July  (24th & 25th), with the Sonic Youth headlining it!

Little video I have made a year ago over Memorial Day weekend, going to the Sasquatch festival in eastern washington state with some friends. It was all shot with my little panasonic point and shoot camera bought in italy two years ago for just over a 100 euros…

the music track is illegally taken (sadly) from b.fleischmann

Little video for anyone who has ever freelanced or work in an agency in the media fields…

Simply priceless

just a few months after moving to Seattle I bumped into Mono In Vcf, a local band with a really interesting style and sound: put Portishead, Beatles, Phil Spektor and a little bit of Broadcast in a box, shake it a little and here you go! they would probably get really offended if they would read this, but they probably won’t, right Jordan?

they had a big show coming up at the Triple Door, one of the best sounding venues here and we decided to collaborate together into shooting some live performances music videos.

you can view another one of the few here

they have a self titled album out now on Stylo records which is available on Itunes  USA and they are also working on a new one.

if you want to know more about what they are all about visit their website here

Not only Bonnaroo places itself between the best summer music festivals in the US, it also has the best, out of my opinion, web promo of all the festivals so far.

Made all with paper and scissors, this video left me blown away.

this to me is another testimony on how, even if we are in the 3d/computer graphics era, handcrafted stuff still can be so powerful and inspiring.

the technique used in this video is called “Stratastencil”, and basically consists in a stencilbased stopmotion with no colors…

confused?   you can check outthe making of the spot HERE

you can also give a look to the video that inspired  Ghost Robot, the production house from NYC that created this.

this inspiration/copy/theft  process created quite a buzz on Motiongrapher.com, you can check out the dispute here

Damn this is cool!

This is probably one of the best hip hop videos I have seen in a long time!

No bitches, no bling bling, no cars with alloy wheels, no booze, no Gucci and no Prada… just a great idea and great musicians!

The video was all shot in one take and the music recorded in the same take as well. You can check his myspace page here
